Lian Zhen in the Life Palace: What the Restraint Star Says About You

Lian Zhen has the most intense personality of the fourteen major stars. The classics give it the keyword “restraint” and also call it the “second romance star”. People with Lian Zhen in the Life Palace are clear about right and wrong, principled yet politically astute, intense in feeling, with loves and hates both vivid. They demand a great deal of themselves and are often seen as hard to read.

A bright Lian Zhen is principled, bold and able to hold power; exalted in Yin and Shen, it forms what the classics call the “hero star facing the court”. A fallen Lian Zhen has even stronger emotions and desires, and swings more. Tian Xiang is exalted in Zi and Wu, making this one of Lian Zhen’s steadier combinations; heed the classical warning of “punishment and fixation squeezing the seal”: with Qing Yang and Hua Ji in the neighbouring palaces, it is easily drawn into others’ trouble. The restraint star with the marshal star: strong drive, willing to work hard, and a fiery character. This pair sits in Chou and Wei with Qi Sha exalted, and the classics say “Lian Zhen and Qi Sha in Chou or Wei are people who accumulate wealth”, building it through hard work; with Sha stars, beware of impulsiveness and rash moves, and the classics are quite severe about this pair meeting Qing Yang and Tuo Luo. Lian Zhen alone, facing Tan Lang (Yin or Shen)

• Lian Zhen with Hua Lu (born in a Jia year): Lian Zhen with Hua Lu turns charm and goodwill into real resources; it knows how to build relationships and suits PR, sales and entertainment. In our sample, about 11.0% of people with Lian Zhen in the Life Palace have the birth-year Hua Lu there.
• Lian Zhen with Hua Ji (born in a Bing year): Lian Zhen with Hua Ji has stronger emotions and more disputes, prone to head-on clashes. Learn to channel that strong energy into professional work.
