Terms of Use

Version: 2026-10-13 (version 2) · Effective: October 13, 2026

Welcome to KnowYourBaZi (knowyourbazi.com, "the Site"). These terms explain the rights and responsibilities on each side when you use the Site or sign up as a member. We have tried to write them in plain language; if anything is unclear, please email us. For how data is collected and kept, see the Privacy Policy; for the nature and limits of the content, see the Disclaimer.

The key points: the Site is free, and its content is for reference and entertainment only. To sign up as a member, you must tick the box agreeing to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you are under 18, please get consent from your legal guardian (a parent or guardian) first. Please do not scrape the Site in bulk or interfere with it. If we make a significant change to these terms, we will announce it and notify members before it takes effect.

1. Scope

When you browse the Site, the parts of these terms that concern browsing and using the content apply to you. When you sign up as a member, you will be asked to actively tick "I have read and agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy", and sign-up is completed only after you agree. We record which version of the terms you agreed to and when.

2. What the Site offers

The Site offers tools for BaZi charts, in-depth readings, compatibility, Zi Wei Dou Shu, Western astrology charts, fortune poems, the almanac and date selection, along with articles on the related culture and folk traditions. All of it is currently free, and the Site is supported by advertising. The articles and translations are mainly generated by AI and then organized by the site operator, and chart results are calculated by software. The content may contain errors or omissions; see the Disclaimer for details.

3. Minors

Under Taiwan's Civil Code, anyone under 18 is a minor. A user under 18 may sign up as a member, save charts or subscribe to the newsletter only after a legal guardian (a parent or guardian) has read and agreed to these terms and the Privacy Policy. For children under 7, the legal guardian should use the Site on their behalf. A legal guardian may email us at any time to ask to see or delete a minor's account and data. Reading articles or casting a chart in your browser without signing up does not require an account, and no birth data is uploaded.

4. Member accounts

5. Prohibited conduct

When using the Site, please do not:

6. Content and reuse

If you believe content on the Site infringes your rights, see Copyright and Content Complaints on our Contact page.

7. Service changes, interruptions and suspension

The Site may adjust or pause parts of the service for maintenance, redesigns or reasons beyond our control, and will try to announce this on the Site in advance. If a member breaches these terms (especially section 5), the Site may, depending on the circumstances, restrict use of, suspend or terminate that member's account. Where advance notice is possible, we will email an explanation first.

8. Limitation of liability

The Site's content is for reference and entertainment only and is not medical, psychological, investment, legal or any other professional advice; whether you believe it and how you use it is up to you. The Site's services are free, and except where caused by our intentional misconduct or gross negligence, the Site is not liable for losses arising from using, or being unable to use, the Site. See the Disclaimer for details.

9. Changes to these terms and notice

When these terms change, we will post the new version on this page and update the version date. For significant changes that affect members' rights, we will post a notice on the Site and email members at least 7 days before the change takes effect. If you do not agree with the revised terms, you can stop using the Site and delete your account, or email us to ask for deletion.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan). If a dispute arises over these terms or the Site's services, both sides will first try in good faith to resolve it by discussion. If that fails and the dispute goes to court, the Taiwan Taipei District Court will be the court of first instance, unless mandatory provisions of law provide otherwise (for example, the jurisdiction rules of the Consumer Protection Act), in which case those provisions apply.
