What is BaZi?
BaZi (Four Pillars astrology) is an Eastern system of astrology passed down for thousands of years. It converts the year, month, day, and hour of your birth into eight characters of Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches, used to reveal your personality traits, Five Elements makeup, and natural talents.
Can I get a chart if I don't know my birth hour?
Yes. Choose "I don't know the hour" in the Hour field and your chart is built from three pillars (year, month and day), which still show your Five Elements makeup and Day Master personality. Recalculate once you know your birth hour for the full picture.
How do I choose the midnight Zi hour (23:00–01:00)?
The Zi hour spans midnight and is split into the "Early Zi hour" (00:00–00:59) and the "Late Zi hour" (23:00–23:59). This site follows the widely used convention of rolling the day over at the start of Zi: if you were born after 23:00, the Day pillar counts as the next day, and the Hour pillar's Zi is derived from the next day's stem as well. Choose Early or Late Zi based on the actual clock time of your birth.
Is my birth data stored?
No. Your chart is calculated entirely within your browser; your birth details are never sent to any server and are never stored.
Are the chart results accurate?
The Four Pillars' stems and branches are derived from standard calendars (including the solar terms and the Start of Spring boundary), so the calculations are accurate. The interpretations draw on widely accepted classical BaZi teachings and are meant for reference, so read them in a lighthearted spirit.
