Zi Wei Dou Shu changes year on Lunar New Year’s Day, so if you were born in January or February, check your lunar year first. The year stem follows the last digit of the Western year (1984 and 1994, for example, are Jia years).
What we measured
How we counted: our engine cast one Zi Wei chart for every day from 1960 to 2005, with the birth hour drawn by a fixed-seed random sample, 16,802 charts in all. This shows how chart structures are distributed; it says nothing about anyone’s fortunes.
In our sample, about 8.7% of people have the birth-year Hua Lu in the Parents Palace; the most common stars are Lian Zhen (12.2%), Tian Liang (11.7%), Po Jun (11.0%). Hua Lu spreads fairly evenly over the palaces, and no palace is especially rare. The real differences lie in which star takes Lu, how bright that star is, and what other stars share the palace or sit opposite it.
