Zi Wei + Tian Xiang in Zi Wei
Tian Xiang (the Minister) is the seal-holding star, and whoever holds the seal minds their proportion. Zi Wei + Tian Xiang shares Chen or Xu, like a manager with some authority who also sticks to the rules. Both Zi Wei and Tian Xiang are favorable in both palaces, so their strength is moderate with no notable difference in brightness. The old texts call Chen and Xu the “net of heaven and earth,” and stars seated there are often described as talented yet held back by circumstances. These people work by the book, leave room when they speak, care a lot about their reputation and how others see them, and are more particular than most about dress and etiquette.
The opposite palace holds a strong Po Jun, shining in from the Travel Palace. Out in the world they often meet situations that call for breaking the old and building the new, and inside they carry an urge to overturn the status quo, held down by Tian Xiang's rules. The old texts have a line saying Zi Wei in Chen or Xu meeting Po Jun is “rich but not noble, with an empty name,” which describes exactly this tug-of-war: wanting stability and wanting change, with reputation possibly outstripping real power. The Wealth Palace holds Wu Qu + Tian Fu, steady with money and good at keeping it; Lian Zhen sits alone in the Career Palace, skilled at using relationships and tact within a system, suited to administration, public relations, legal work and similar roles.

On the four MBTI axes: ESTJ
These are the star-group scores (Life Palace in full, opposite palace half, Wealth and Career a quarter each); positive leans E, N, T, J and negative leans I, S, F, P.
Extraversion is 1.63, leaning E. Zi Wei faces outward and Po Jun opposite is even more restless; together they make these people willing to step up and take responsibility. Tian Fu and Wu Qu in the Wealth Palace are more reserved and pull the score back a little.

Reading Zi Wei + Tian Xiang in ESTJ terms
Borrowing ESTJ language, Zi Wei + Tian Xiang's Extraverted Thinking (Te) shows up as doing things by procedure: first confirm responsibilities, process and grounds, then carry it out. Introverted Sensing (Si) makes them especially alert to precedent and custom; how something was handled before and who said what, they remember clearly. This is close to the image of Tian Xiang holding the seal: a stamp in hand, rules to follow, and responsibility for the outcome.
But their T is weak, which sets them apart from the blunt, direct ESTJ. Tian Xiang values fairness and harmony, so when these people decide, they make an effort to consider everyone's feelings, more like the gentler, coordination-minded ESTJs. Po Jun opposite is the Extraverted Intuition (Ne) in their mind: every so often the thought “let's just redo the whole thing” surfaces, and most of the time their own rules push it back down.

- Tian Xiang holds the seal and the ESTJ values organizational structure; both believe following the rules reduces disputes. When these people join a new team, they usually first work out who signs off and who carries things out.

- Zi Wei wants dignity and Tian Xiang cares about dress and etiquette; the ESTJ also often treats “how others see this unit” as their own responsibility. These people find it hard to accept rudeness in public.
- The backbone of daily operations
- In the old texts Zi Wei + Tian Xiang carries a sense of assisting, and the ESTJ is also described as the one who keeps an organization's daily operations running. Whatever is assigned from above, they finish item by item and report progress on time.

- Held back by the net
- The old texts call Chen and Xu the net of heaven and earth, and stars seated there often feel unable to fulfill their ambitions. MBTI doesn't discuss environmental pressure on personality, while Zi Wei treats “which palace you sit in” as a condition in itself.
- A warning that name exceeds power
- “Rich but not noble, with an empty name” is the old texts' verdict on Zi Wei in Chen or Xu meeting Po Jun: reputation and wealth may come, but real power may not match. MBTI only discusses preferences, not what shape a person's achievements will take.
- An ESTJ with weak Thinking
- Their Thinking score is only 0.5, and Tian Xiang's warmth and tact make these people softer than a typical ESTJ. Those whose Mind Palace leans toward feeling may read more like an ESFJ.
- Tian Xiang depends on its neighbors
- When reading Tian Xiang, the San He school checks whether the two neighboring palaces form a favorable flank or a harmful one around the seal, so the same Zi Wei + Tian Xiang can go two ways, good or bad. This reading of neighboring palaces has no counterpart in MBTI.
