Zi Wei, lord of the Northern Dipper, and Tian Fu (the Treasury), lord of the Southern Dipper, share one Life Palace in Yin and Shen. With two “masters among the major stars” packed together, the old texts say “Zi Wei and Tian Fu in one palace bring lifelong fortune,” meaning a steady foundation and relatively ample resources. The temperament here is steadiness: attention to status and dignity, protecting the principal before anything else, no casual risks. In Yin, Tian Fu is exalted and its power to preserve is at its fullest; in Shen, Tian Fu is only favorable, and alongside the caution there is a bit more interest in expanding outward. Zi Wei is strong in both, so opinions and a sense of dignity are obvious either way.
The opposite palace holds an exalted Qi Sha (the Marshal), the most driven star in the whole group. It doesn't show day to day, but when pushed into a corner, these people suddenly display Qi Sha-style decisiveness, even ruthlessness.
