Wu Qu alone (opposite Tan Lang) in Zi Wei
Wu Qu (the General of Wealth) sits alone in the Chen and Xu branches, exalted. This is Wu Qu in its purest form: firm, decisive, trustworthy and sharp with money and numbers. The opposite palace holds Tan Lang (the Wolf of Desire), also exalted. With Wu Qu and Tan Lang facing each other across the chart, the old texts describe this setup as "poor first, rich later," getting better with age. Chen and Xu are called "Tian Luo Di Wang" (the net of heaven and earth) in the old texts, describing constraints all around; this group often feels unable to spread their wings early in life and must break through step by step with patience. The star brightness is the same in both branches, so differences depend on other stars and the transformations.

Reading Wu Qu alone (opposite Tan Lang) in ESTJ terms
In ESTJ terms, Wu Qu alone leads with extraverted Thinking (Te), supported by introverted Sensing (Si): clear goals, step-by-step progress, and a focus on numbers and tangible results. Compared with other ESTJ star systems, Wu Qu alone lacks Tian Xiang's service instinct and Qi Sha's combativeness; it is the purest executor.
Worth noting: their E is borrowed. Tan Lang opposite lets them handle dinners and business deals very well, but back in their own life they are quiet and focused. That's why people often say those with Wu Qu in the Life Palace are "one person at work and another after hours." - Wu Qu's firmness and the ESTJ's extraverted Thinking both put reaching the goal first. Once a direction is set, they follow through step by step and are not easily swayed by emotion.

- Wu Qu is the wealth star, and ESTJs are good at managing budgets and resources. This group reads reports and calculates costs especially fast, and is often the first on the team to spot that the books don't add up.

- ESTJs are described as direct and unevasive, and so is Wu Qu. Their bluntness usually comes from efficiency, not a wish to offend, but listeners may need some time to get used to it.

- People born in a Jia year have Wu Qu Hua Ke, a Ji year Hua Lu, a Geng year Hua Quan, a Ren year Hua Ji, and Wu Qu alone feels these changes more directly. All are ESTJ, yet one cares about reputation, one has smooth finances, one holds power and one worries about money.

Are people with Wu Qu in the Life Palace hard to get close to?
They often seem distant at first, because Wu Qu speaks bluntly, shows little expression and mostly talks about business.
