Zi Wei Dou Shu: Hua Ke in the 12 palaces
Hua Ke is the "Ke" of the Four Transformations: reputation, order, learning and helping hands. Wherever your birth-year Ke lands, that area of life is where you earn a good name more easily, and where someone tends to step in when you are stuck.
What Hua Ke is
Ke is gentler than Lu or Quan but very steady: it brings order and dignity, and when you hit a wall, someone often helps. Tradition also links Ke with study and exams.
To read Ke, first see which palace it sits in (where your good name lies), then the opposite palace (where that name reaches), and finally which star carries it: Wen Chang and Wen Qu with Ke lean toward learning and talent, Zuo Fu and You Bi toward support and helpful people, and Tai Yin takes Ke in both Geng and Gui years.

Zi Wei Dou Shu changes year on Lunar New Year’s Day, so if you were born in January or February, check your lunar year first. The year stem follows the last digit of the Western year (1984 and 1994, for example, are Jia years).

Hua Ke spreads fairly evenly over the twelve palaces, and no palace is especially rare; the most common Hua Ke star in each palace simply follows the spread of year stems.

How we counted: our engine cast one Zi Wei chart for every day from 1960 to 2005, with the birth hour drawn by a fixed-seed random sample, 16,802 charts in all. This shows how chart structures are distributed; it says nothing about anyone’s fortunes.

Myth: Ke means you will ace exams.
Ke relates to learning and order, and in the Life, Parents or Career Palace it is often seen as a plus for study. Results still depend on preparation.
Myth: Ke is too weak to matter.
Ke’s strength is not quantity but steadiness: a good name, dignity and people who help you out are assets that build over a lifetime.
