Tian Xi in Zi Wei Dou Shu: Cheer, Optimism and Things to Celebrate
Tian Xi (Heavenly Joy) is the celebration star of Zi Wei Dou Shu. Its palace is set by the birth-year branch and it always sits opposite Hong Luan. It stands for optimism, cheer and all kinds of happy occasions: the area it sits in tends to carry a festive mood.
What Tian Xi is
If Hong Luan is about the beginning of love, Tian Xi is about the results: weddings, a new family member, promotions and moving into a new home all fall under it. People with a strong Tian Xi are usually cheerful, young at heart and good at lifting a room.
- Cheerful and quick to smile
- Lifts the mood and keeps gatherings lively
- Loves to celebrate and treasures small everyday joys
Hong Luan and Tian Xi belong to the lesser stars: they are printed smaller on a chart, after the major and minor stars, but they are often consulted on questions of romance and likeability.
How Tian Xi is placed
Tian Xi is placed by the birth-year branch: start the Zi year at You and count backward to your birth-year branch; wherever you stop, that is Tian Xi’s palace. Tian Xi is always opposite Hong Luan, so you can also find Hong Luan first and look straight across. BaZi’s Hong Luan and Tian Xi are found from the birth-year branch with exactly the same table. For a given year, look up that year’s branch in the same table.

What the data says
How we counted: this site’s engine cast one Zi Wei chart for every day from 1960 to 2005 (birth hour drawn by a fixed-seed random sample), 16,802 charts in all. These figures describe how chart structures are distributed; they do not measure anyone’s good or bad fortune.
Myth: Tian Xi is only about weddings.
Tian Xi covers every kind of celebration: promotions, moving house, finishing a degree, a friend’s good news.
Myth: no Luan or Xi in the Life Palace means no romance.
Luan and Xi are only two of the romance stars. Likeability also depends on the major stars (such as Tan Lang and Lian Zhen), Tian Yao and the transformations.
Advice
Share the good cheer; happiness grows when it is passed around.

A straight word: Luan and Xi describe a mood, not a wedding date
Hong Luan and Tian Xi show where warmth and good cheer land. They cannot tell you which year you will marry, and they do not measure how good a relationship is; that is built by the two people in it. This site does not read the Health Palace. Everything here is for reference and entertainment.
