Di Jie is placed by the birth hour: start the Zi hour at Hai and count forward to your birth hour; wherever you stop, that is Di Jie’s palace.

Di Jie and Di Kong share a palace only for people born in the Zi and Wu hours; in every other hour they are apart. In our sample, about 2.7% of people have the Life Palace flanked by Di Kong and Di Jie, one on each side.
