The General Star is the middle branch of the three-harmony group (Zi, Wu, Mao or You). If the year or day branch is itself Zi, Wu, Mao or You, the star it produces is itself; we do not count that pillar and check only the others.
How we counted: our engine cast one chart for every day from 1960 to 2005, with the birth hour drawn by a fixed-seed random sample, 16,802 charts in all, and checked each star by the formal method on this page.
