Harming Tai Sui: Hidden Wear and Misunderstanding

A harm is also called chuan, "piercing": something working its way in from the side. It is not visible the way a clash is; it is closer to wear out of sight: misunderstandings, people working against you, a distance that is hard to name. The upside is that visible problems are the ones you can fix, so in a year that harms Tai Sui the most useful thing you can do is say things clearly.

Where the Six Harms come from

The pattern behind the Six Harms is that Tai Sui clashes away your Six Combination partner. The side that would have helped you gets pulled away, so a harm often reads as "support that disappeared" or "someone said something in between." Yin and Si also punish each other, so for the Snake in a Yin year and the Tiger in a Si year, punishment and harm apply together.

• Support that used to be steady thins out, and you carry more yourself.

How to use a harm year
