A Direct Officer year: the rules are on your side, once the Metal has been through the fire

The Monkey's year branch is Shen, main qi Geng Metal. Ding Fire controls Geng Metal — what controls you is Officer or Killings — and Ding is Yin against Geng's Yang, so the 2027 axis is Direct Officer. Direct Officer is rule, responsibility, position, being expected of. Unlike Seven Killings it is not oppressive: it is ordered, named constraint. A Direct Officer year is usually the year responsibility is handed to you.

Shen and Wei form no clash, punishment, harm or destruction, and no combination either — the Monkey does not offend Tai Sui. External force is low and most of the initiative is yours. But the elemental layer matters: Ding Wei is dry Fire and Earth, and Fire controls Metal. Direct Officer is that control — it gives you a position, and the price is being bound by it.
