Tian Fu (the Treasury) sits alone in Mao or You, with Wu Qu + Qi Sha across the way. In the old texts, Tian Fu is the "commanding star of the Southern Dipper," in charge of the storehouse: putting resources away, keeping the accounts in order, and making the family's assets grow thicker year by year. Wu Qu + Qi Sha in the opposite palace are two hard stars, one in charge of money and one in charge of charging ahead. Shining across from the other side, they effectively add a lock and a blade to this generous storehouse: usually polite and considerate, but when money or principle is at stake, their attitude suddenly hardens. The Wealth Palace has no major star and the Career Palace holds Tian Xiang, so in their career they suit roles within a system as gatekeeper, coordinator or bookkeeper.
