Ju Men (the Great Gate) sits in Si or Hai, with Tai Yang (the Sun) across. Ju Men rules eloquence and probing, Tai Yang rules warmth and self-expression; one loves to ask, the other loves to speak. This group is naturally suited to being out front: they analyze problems in an orderly way and say it persuasively, and jobs that live by talking, such as teaching, sales, media and law, are common. The old texts say Ju Men is a dark star that needs the Sun's light to turn dark into bright, and this group has a Sun right across.
The key is whether the Sun is bright. In Hai, Ju Men is strong and the opposite Tai Yang in Si is also strong; the old texts value this arrangement highly, with Ju Men's questioning lit up and eloquence turning into influence. In Si, Ju Men is equally strong, but the opposite Tai Yang in Hai is fallen and doesn't light much; the eloquence remains, but it's easier to get pulled into disputes, and bluntness often goes down badly. With Tian Ji in Wealth and Tian Tong in Career, money comes from brains and planning, and work should feel comfortable and humane. The lesson is to make every sentence serve a purpose.

The auxiliary introverted thinking is carried by Ju Men, so these ideas get a round of picky scrutiny first and are voiced only if they hold up. - The old texts call Ju Men a dark star and consider it fortunate only when lit by the Sun, which is a value judgment. MBTI treats all preferences equally and never says one type needs someone else to light it up.

The difference is the Sun across. For Ju Men in Hai, the opposite Tai Yang in Si is strong; the old texts rate this higher, and eloquence can turn into reputation and influence. For Ju Men in Si, the opposite Tai Yang in Hai is fallen, Ju Men's darkness is harder to light, and speaking more easily invites disputes. Ju Men itself is strong in both; the difference lies entirely with the Sun.
