Saturn's circuit is 29.5 years, but Earth is moving too, so seen from here Saturn speeds up, slows down and goes retrograde, and the age of the return varies from 28.4 to 29.9. For about 37.1% of people, Saturn crosses their natal Saturn two or three times, stretching the whole thing to as long as 9 months; the other 62.9% get a single pass. Either way, with a 2° orb, Saturn usually hovers nearby for six months to a year.

The first comes at about 29; in our sample it fell between 28.4 and 29.9, averaging 29.3. The second comes at about 59. The exact date depends on your birth date; the calculator above works it out.
How long does a Saturn return last?
Counting the time transiting Saturn is within 2° of natal Saturn, usually six months to a year; if Saturn goes retrograde and crosses the point two or three times, it can stretch past a year. Many astrologers count a year either side as well.
Does something big always happen at the Saturn return?
Not necessarily. The Saturn return is a name for the themes common around 29 or 30: career settling, relationships and family, moving, more responsibility. Some people go through a clear turning point then; others simply settle their lives down gradually.
Can I find my Saturn return without a birth time?
