The Gods of Joy, Wealth and Fortune: daily directions
Every day the almanac prints something like "God of Joy northeast, God of Wealth due north." These directions depend only on the day's heavenly stem, so they repeat every ten days.

How people use them
- For a wedding procession or an important trip, some people first walk a short way toward the God of Joy.
- When opening a business or starting work for the year, some burn incense or open the doors facing the God of Wealth.
- The God of Wealth direction is often combined with the custom of welcoming the God of Wealth on the fifth day of the lunar new year.

A common misconception
The God of Wealth sits in one fixed corner of your home.
The almanac's God of Wealth direction changes every day with the day stem, on a ten-day cycle. The "wealth corner" of a home is a separate feng shui idea.
A straight word: the almanac is a traditional calculation
The favorable and avoid lists, the spirits and the good hours in a Chinese almanac come from the calculation rules of traditional almanac books, and different publishers sometimes disagree. We compute them with the open-source calendar library lunar.js, using exactly the same rules as our date selection finder. It is a piece of cultural heritage, not a scientific forecast: for anything that matters, go by the real circumstances and your own judgment.
