Which Years Suit a Move Abroad: Horse Years, Day Branch Clashes and New Luck Pillars
Once you know how restless you are, the next question is when. We look at three move signals: a Traveling Horse year, a year that clashes your Day Branch, and a new luck pillar, then at whether that year is favorable for you. It is close to the timing of a job change; the difference is that a job change is read from the Month pillar (your stage at work), while moving house or abroad is read from the Day pillar (you and your home).

How we counted: our engine cast one chart for every day from 1960 to 2005 (birth hour drawn at random, alternating male and female), 16,802 charts in all; the timing figures cover the ten years 2026 to 2035. This describes how chart structures are distributed; it says nothing about whether any real person will move or emigrate.

- Her baseline: Qing is a weak Geng Metal Day Master; favorable EarthMetalFire, unfavorable WaterWood. She was born in the Hai month, the start of winter, so her chart as a whole runs cold. All three restless signs hold in her birth chart, so she is restless by nature.
- 2026, Bing-Wu: the year’s branch Wu clashes her Day Branch Zi, and Bing Fire is one of her favorable elements. A house move or a new city this year is more likely to turn out well.
- 2030, Geng-Xu: she starts a new luck pillar, and Geng Metal and Xu Earth are both favorable. A new ten-year stretch begins: a good time for big plans like going abroad or relocating.
- 2031, Xin-Hai: a Traveling Horse year, but mixed; business trips and short postings abroad suit it better.
- 2034, Jia-Yin: also a Traveling Horse year, but Jia Wood and Yin Wood are both unfavorable for her. A move this year is more likely to be forced and harder going, so sort out housing and budget first.
Before you move house or go abroad
- Budget: moving costs, deposits, visas and the first few months of living expenses. In an unfavorable move year, this matters most.
