Wu-Chen is the stem Wu over the branch Chen. Wu is Yang Earth and is your Day Master, standing for you; Chen is Earth and sits in the day branch, which is the spouse palace. Wu-Chen belongs to the Jia-Zi decade, which never reaches the branches Xu, Hai; these are its void branches. Whatever a voided pillar stands for tends to be "present but not solid" — not absent, but hard to hold, or late in arriving.
