Siblings in BaZi: Friend and Rob Wealth, Who Are Also Your Friends and Peers
The Ten Gods that share your Day Master's element are called Friend and Rob Wealth, together known as Peers. They stand for brothers and sisters, and also for classmates, friends, colleagues and competitors in your field: everyone who stands in the same place you do. So reading your bond with siblings is also reading how you get along with your peers.

Classical texts also split Friend and Rob Wealth into brothers or sisters depending on whether the chart is a man's or a woman's, but the schools disagree, so we do not. For how the two differ in character, see Friend and Rob Wealth.
How we counted: our engine cast one chart for every day from 1960 to 2005, with the birth hour drawn by a fixed-seed random sample, 16,802 charts in all. This describes how chart structures are distributed; it says nothing about anyone's family.
Peers are favorable in as many as two charts out of three, for the same reason as the mother star: weak Day Masters outnumber strong ones, and Peers help the Day Master, so they are often favorable. For most people, siblings and friends are a help, astrologically speaking.

A chart with many Peers and little Wealth is the pattern called Peers robbing Wealth: it is not that the money cannot be earned, but that it gets divided up. That is why classical texts so often discuss "brothers" and "sharing money" in the same breath.
The month pillar: the Siblings Palace
The month pillar is both the Parents Palace and the Siblings Palace, standing for the home you grew up in. When Peers show on the month stem, siblings or peers usually have a strong influence in your teenage years. When the month branch clashes the day branch (about 8.4% of charts), the common reading is that as adults you and your siblings move in separate circles, and staying in touch takes deliberate effort.

A straight word: the six relations show the shape of a bond, not a verdict
In BaZi, the six relations describe how present a family member is in your chart, how the two of you tend to interact, and which issues that relationship is more likely to run into. A chart cannot tell you what kind of people your parents are, and it cannot decide whether you and your family will get along; that comes down to choices and effort on both sides. If my chart has no Peers, does that mean I have no siblings?
No. A chart cannot tell whether you have siblings or how many. In our sample only about 4.8% of people have no Peers anywhere in the four pillars; they tend to be independent and used to relying on themselves.
