Jue Ming in Eastern Numerology: What 12 and 21 Mean
In Eight Mansions feng shui, Jue Ming is the Po Jun star. Eastern Numerology reads it as boldness, appetite for risk and big swings, often linked to investing, starting a business and money that comes and goes. This page covers the eight pairs of Jue Ming and their strength, its place in the Eight Mansions, the traditional reading, and how it interacts with the other stars.
The eight pairs of Jue Ming
Jue Ming has eight pairs. Common tables rank them into four strength levels, two pairs each; the two pairs on a level are the same digits in reverse order (for example 12 and 21) and carry the same weight.
| Strength level | Pairs | Trigrams (directions) |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | 12, 21 | Kan–Kun (north–southwest) |
| Level 2 | 69, 96 | Qian–Li (northwest–south) |
| Level 3 | 48, 84 | Xun–Gen (southeast–northeast) |
| Level 4 | 37, 73 | Zhen–Dui (east–west) |
Each digit in a pair is a Lo Shu number tied to one trigram. Matching the two trigrams by the Eight Mansions “Great Wandering Year” method gives Jue Ming, which is why Jue Ming is always exactly these eight pairs.
